About the job:

The Assistant Buyer role is key within the client's team, with the main purpose being to ensure that all supply ordering is effective and efficient. 

Our client manufactures household stock items for retail as well as bespoke items for particular clients.

The client has been growing consistently over 20 years, and has a good history of promoting from within.

Successful applicants will like to solve problems and take accountability for the performance of their suppliers.

They will work with their suppliers in a collaborative manner.

 

Principal Accountabilities

 

Ordering

  • Coordinate ordering of stocked items in line with production team forecasts

  • Working with designers and senior buyers, create financially accurate project estimates for clients, and ensure the estimate is kept fully updated on the client's bespoke order database procurement system as the project develops

  • Once client approval has been received for bespoke projects, liaise and coordinate with suppliers to order and procure items required in a time efficient manner; chasing where necessary

  • Raise purchase orders on SAP, following up on all orders and deliveries and ensuring project trackers are kept updated

  • Highlight supply issues immediately and proactively work with supplier to suggest alternatives where possible, or order from secondary suppliers

Financial

  • Interrogate margins and billings independently every day, raising any issues or discrepancies with the Procurement Manager immediately

  • Checking invoices are paid to suppliers in line with payment terms, liaising with the finance team to resolve any issues

  • Ensure at any given time you are have awareness and understanding of the department’s order bank, billings due and delivered trade

Location  

  • The successful candidate will be an integral part of the head office team, and work from the office in Warrington

  • Hours are office hours, with some flexibility to suit personal commitments

 

Package  

  • 24 days holiday, plus bank holidays

  • 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
