Our client is in the financial services sector and is part publicly controlled. They strive to make financial markets work better for smaller businesses.

Following a period of rapid growth, they are now seeking a Supplier Relationship Manager to manage its contracts with a number of strategic partners.

Although knowledge of the professional services sector is advantageous, it is not essential. What is most relevant is your ability to manage suppliers via a variety of relationship techniques (collaborative, arms-length...), according to the contracts that are in place, with the purpose of delivering value to the client.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Reporting to the Senior Supplier Relationship Manager, you will be part of the commercial operations team and will be responsible for maximising the value and supplier effectiveness from a portfolio of around 70 suppliers according to measures on cost, SLA, support and performance.

  • You will partner with the business functions to oversee supplier service contracts and act as an escalation point for both the business and the supplier in the event of concerns, ensuring effective communication while reaching a resolution and undertaking post incident reviews.

  • You will also have responsibility for undertaking assurance activities, ensuring all controls and procedures are reviewed and adhered to, as well as embedding Supplier Relationship Management processes across the business and acting as the subject matter expert.

  • As part of your day to day service delivery, you will manage contracts in a professional and commercially-focussed manner, and carry out ongoing reviews of supplier contracts, in conjunction with the procurement team, to optimise costs.

Competencies

  • You will have extensive experience of effective contract, commercial, service and budget management

  • Ideally this will be in an environment with complex multi-source service agreements across multiple suppliers

  • You will have experience of understanding specific contract drafting, negotiation skills and dispute management

  • The ability to analyse complex performance information and invoicing, as well as using clear escalation paths for reporting and resolving issues are essential.

  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering change and improvement

  • You demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, and have demonstrable experience of stakeholder management

  • You build strong partnerships within your team, the wider business and the supplier base

  • Knowledge of the finance sector and funding is an advantage

Location

  • Hybrid, with travel to the Sheffield office 1-2 days per week, and visits to key suppliers

  • 37.5 hours per week

​

Package

  • £37,000 to £45,000
