A new vacancy has arisen for a procurement manager to support the business with supply fulfilment and price control.

Key Accountabilities

  • Effectively manage the costs of products used within the company, producing weekly cost analysis to ensure the business can maximise profitability and make cost improvements where available

  • Build Effective relationships with key suppliers for all food raw materials, ingredients & packaging in accordance with business demands

  • Establish secondary sources of food materials, ingredients and packaging to mitigate risk

  • Regularly review cost out opportunities and ensure prices for goods and services are in line with relevant market rates, efficiently sourced, and procured in a way that creates the best value for the business

  • Control and maintain an accurate record of supplier and contract price change requests with relevant supporting supplier documentation

  • Maintain a record of, and communicate as necessary, to key stakeholders all inflation/deflation that will impact the business

  • Maintain an accurate price file to be used by the stock control, commercial, and finance teams to support order placement, commercial inflation, and received invoice pricing

  • Identify and mitigate risk relating to supplier relations and price volatility

  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs

Key Performance Measures

  • Cost per unit

  • Supplier performance On-Time-in-Full (OTIF)

  • # Secondary suppliers sourced and agreed for key lines

  • Mitigation of Inflationary increases % by supplier


  • Procurement experience within an FMCG industry, most preferably food manufacturing

  • Strong initiative with good problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines

  • Ideally CIPS qualified (or training towards)

  • Negotiation and supplier relationship management skills

Location and Hours

  • At the client's production facility in Ashford

  • Hours to suit business need, but primarily 40 hours per week Monday to Friday


  • £40,000
